Why do we need a Facial?
A facial cleans, exfoliates and nourishes the skin to promote clear, well-hydrated skin. Facials are some of the most popular spa treatments. Professional facials, when well done, can help to maintain the skin tone for longer time, and of course, they help to keep the skin clean of impurities (that open the pores and make the skin look dull).
What are the Basic Steps of a facial?
In a nutshell, the Basic Steps of a Facial consist of:
-
Cleansing
- Skin analysis, where the esthetician puts eye pads over your eyes and looks at your skin through a brightly lit magnifying lamp.
- Exfoliation, usually while a steam vapor is directed at your face.
- Extraction of blackheads if you want it and it's suitable for your skin type. (It can cause broken capillaries.)
- Facial massage to relax you and stimulate your skin and facial muscles
- A mask targeted to your skin type (dry, oily, combination, sensitive, mature.)
- Application of toners and protective creams
- Advice on home skin care
Are there any other options and/or uses of instruments?
Variations on the classic European facial include the "mini-facial" (cleansing without extractions) and specialty facials. You can add vitamin C, and you have an "age defense" facial, you can also add a "collagen facial" when special collagen sheets are placed on the skin. An acne facial will pay special attention to extractions. Other options available with our most advanced thirteen function unit will allow us to provide you with the most perfect skin care modern technology can offer today.
How much does a facial cost?
A basic facial usually starts around $75-$125 at a day spa. Prices will be higher at destination spas, resort and hotel spas. Special skin care products, masks and serums also make the price go higher. Our price starts at only $45.
How often do you need a facial service?
Ideally, everyone should get a facial every four to six weeks because that's how long it takes the skin to regenerate. Try to have a facial at least four times a year, as the season changes. You may need it more frequently if you are trying to clear up a case of acne, especially at the beginning. If you haven’t had a facial before and/or longer than 6 months, it’s time to get a facial now! Book your next facial with us now and experience the changes in your face in one hour!
